who wore what?!

Hi friends!
I'm currently writing this from the confines of my bed. Since the school year started I've been out more nights than in, and it's finally caught up with me - I'm SO sick. My mum came to my flat to nurse me back to health, and Daddy just stopped in with my puppy, Bella, for a visit and brought me chocolate peanut butter ice cream, my very favourite. Needless to say I feel very loved and on the mend.

My friend and I both laughed when we saw THIS post on WhoWhatWear on Sunday. The night before, I was out at the Ford Supermodel of the World finale wearing a veryyy similar look. I went with my friend Kenneth, a male model who is signed with Ford and had some fabulous makeup done by NARS. The eye makeup was SO dramatic and fabulous, but I took most of it off before remembering to take outfit snapshots, which I seriously regret! I'm wearing an Erin Wasson x RVCA dress and my trusty Sam Edelman's. I highly recommend the dress to anyone hoping to get in on the crushed velvet trend, but beware - it's super short!xx EV

matte nail polish

Hey Loves,
I feel half brain dead as I write this, so I'll keep it short. Last night Dani and I went to watch some cute band boys play a show. I've had multiple people tell me that I'm not allowed to wear slips in public, but I still feel the need to channel my inner Courtney Love.

Have a gooood weekend! xx

you're a mess.

Hello hello,
I've had whirlwind of a week. Lots and lots going on so I thought I'd give a quick update.
As one lovely reader pointed out, I was at a party last week where Bronques from lastnightsparty was snapping shots.
Also, I was on eTalk (Canada's major entertainment show) earlier this week modelling some of the major trends for fall. Thanks so much to Stephanie for letting me know when it was airing! The segment was done by Lisa Tant, the editor-in-chief of the magazine I worked at over the summer. Here are a few screen caps and you can see the full episode here:
I really loved the exaggerated shoulders and leather leggings of the first look. The second look was very Lanvin-like, but not really my style.
Lastly, just a shot from one of the nights out with my bff Dani this past week. I've been having almost too much fun lately:
Have a fabulous week everyone xx

gummy worms

This is the first post from my new laptop and the first post from my new apartment! Between moving, tech problems, TIFF (Toronto International Film Fest), starting school, and going out my life has been pretty crazy as of late, and things are showing no signs of slowing down.

I've been loving all the tweeting/blogging/general coverage of NYFW this season too. Though I much prefer the F/W collections, any fashion week is great. So far my favourite collections are DEFINITELY Preen and Jeremy Laing, but I also have mad love for Herve Leger, ADAM, Charlotte Ronson, and Alex Wang

Also, a BIG thanks to the lovely PR people who've been inviting me to some London Fashion Week events, but just to clarify, I'm from Toronto, so I sadly won't be able to skip across the pond in time! Feel free to send any Toronto Fashion Week invites my way though hah! xx

they say she needs to slow down

Today was the first day back at school. Third year is already different than my first two years at university, I'm loving the more specialized subjects and smaller class sizes. The beginning of the year is the best; you're just cracking into your new texts without the stress of assignments looming.
Though the start of school is exciting, this week is full of far more exciting things. NYFW starts, and though I'm sadly not going to be there, I'll be on style.com religiously checking out the new collections... I'm waiting to see what magical creations Alexander Wang will show... because we all know that what he puts on the runway, we'll all be copying immediately. Beyond that, I can't wait for Erin Wasson x RVCA, Rag & Bone, Donna Karan, Threeasfour and of course, MJ, among others!
Another exciting event this week is the start of Toronto International Film Fest, arguably the biggest film fest of the year, which is luckily in my hometown, so I'll be attending a few events.
Alright, so now to the outfit. I'm wearing my Sam Edelman's along with a gorgeous Maison Martin Margiela piece I picked up at Joseph in London this summer. You'll be seeing a lot more of it in the future, as it's a fantastic layering piece.
Didn't realize how late it was! Off to bed with me!
PS: True Blood and Mad Men seemed to get an equal response from you guys - guess I've got to start watching both!

next time i'm in church please no photos

Hi Lovers,
Is it fall or is it summer? I can't seem to decide. I'm almost always cold when out at night and indoors (perhaps because of overexcited air conditioners), but during the afternoons the weather is lovely. What is going ON here! I've been wearing more fall weather clothes lately. I suppose I should enjoy the last of the summer heat, but I'm over it. Bring on the layering, dark shades and weighty fabrics!
Dug out this shirt from the back of my closet after seeing Alexa Chung rock it recently. These pants are my absolute favourites at the moment as well:
(Shirt: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Pants: Topshop, Shoes: Office, Belt: gift)
Was supposed to go to an event tonight but skipped out to watch House on dvd because I'm terribly exciting like that. Tomorrow I'm going to the Ex (have any of you Torontonians been yet?) and then to see the Killers in concert.
PS I want to start watching either Mad Men or True Blood... any advice?
