Hello All,

• My weekend was one of those where it felt like every day was a bad hair day, does that make sense?
• I bought this grey Talula t-shirt last week and I can't take it off. Though it may not look like much, it's easily the best shaped shirt I've ever had, and at only $17 bucks, I'm picking up a few more this week. Better pictures of it soon.
• I realized that my trip to New York will fall during New York Fashion Week!! I'm so psyched to be in the city when it's buzzing with all that crazy fashion energy, and I'm hoping to check out a show or two if I can as well!

Hi Friends,

• This is the type of outfit I wear when I'm dragged out of bed at 9 a.m. on a Sunday to go to the St. Lawrence Market, a food and antique market in Toronto. We perused the stalls for vintage books, cameras, and jewellery but didn't leave with anything except some wine from the LCBO across the street.
• I've been wearing either leather pants, leather leggings, or vinyl pants every day this week.
• My mother was in Haiti for a day this week, I'm so eager to hear about her experience when she returns to Toronto on Friday. Emergency relief is so, so needed right now, please visit Doctors Without Borders to learn more and see how you can help.
• I'm heading to New York City in a few weeks, so any shopping and eating suggestions are so so so appreciated! I haven't been in about 3 years, so please let me know of any great boutiques, coffee shops, vintage stores, and delicious dinner spots!

Hi All,
Today was spent running all around the city. I had a delicious lunch with my father, finally found the perfect pair of black trousers, drank lots of ginger tea, and scored all sorts of killer finds at 69 Vintage. The weather is ridiculously cold and I am so jealous of my darling mother who is off to Palm Beach and the Caribbean later this week. Bring me back a tan, okay Mum?
My dinosaur t-shirt is pretty much my favourite thing in the world right now, and I've been wearing it nearly every day. The stockings and frilly socks were gifts from American Apparel - thanks AA!

love in these modern times

Happy New Year!

This year has been one of the most eventful of my life. I transferred universities, moved into a new apartment, interned at a magazine, visited London and New York, experienced all kinds of new relationships, continued modelling, and, most importantly, started this blog. Chic Heroin isn't a year old yet, but it has grown so much in the past few months and I only have all of you to thank for that. Your comments have brightened every day and the friendships made with some of you have been wonderful, so thank you.

The coming year holds some exciting prospects for both my personal life and the blog and I can't wait to share them with you.
